Dr. Sam Shemie wins Transplant Québec’s Grand Prix
Transplant Québec awarded its Grand Prix 2022 to Dr. Sam Shemie, Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Montreal Children's Hospital and Associate Investigator at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, in recognition of his outstanding commitment, leadership and professionalism in advancing the practice of organ donation in Quebec. MUHC Cardiologist leading the way for digital health to improve cardiac health care
Leading a healthy lifestyle is the best prevention for heart disease. Dr. Abhinav Sharma, a cardiologist at the MUHC and researcher at the RI-MUHC, was invited to CBC radio show All in a Weekend to speak about new digital health solutions he is developing to improve cardiac health, such as an app to encourage people to do more physical activity and a mobile device that could be used to screen for type 2 diabetes non-invasively.
